Röllika - Achillea m. Apfelblüte P9 - BIO

Achillea millefolium “Apfelblüte” is one of those perennials that continues to delight your garden year after year. The name says it all: the flowers have a subtle, fresh, sweet scent reminiscent of apples. The colour is a soft pale pink, and as the summer progresses, it fades very gradually to almost white — an honest and beautiful ageing process that actually gives the plant its character.

The plant flowers from early June until well into September. If it slows down a bit, simply cut back the spent stems and it will start again. That repeat flowering is genuine — quick, vigorous and reliable.

What does this Achillea need?

A sunny spot and well-drained soil are all it needs. ‘Apfelblüte’ is naturally water-efficient and copes well during dry spells — handy if you don’t want to water every day. Plant it about 30 to 40 cm apart, so it has room to spread out. It grows to a height of between 60 and 80 cm, depending on the location.

For the garden and in a vase

The long, sturdy stems make ‘Apfelblüte’ an excellent cut flower. Cut them just as the flowers are opening to ensure they last the longest. In the garden, the umbel-shaped flowers attract bees and butterflies — a lovely contribution to biodiversity in your local area.

The plant is supplied as a healthy P9 pot, already well-rooted and ready for planting. Planting time is March to May. Once in the ground, it is hardy and returns every year.
