• When are the climbing plants delivered?
  Natural Bulbs’ climbing plants are delivered from March to the end of May as potted, rooted plants, ready to be planted directly against a fence, wall or pergola.
• Which climbing plant grows the fastest?
  Clematis Montana Rubens is the strongest and fastest-growing plant in our range. It can climb metres in just a few seasons and cover a large area. Lonicera (honeysuckle) also grows vigorously and can spread rapidly in a suitable location.
• Are the climbing plants hardy?
  Yes, all the climbing plants in our range are hardy and return every year. They lose some or all of their leaves in winter, but sprout vigorously again in spring.
• Where do climbing plants thrive best?
  Most varieties grow well in a sunny to lightly shaded spot. Clematis prefers a cool root zone. Plant the base in the shade or cover the ground around it, whilst allowing the top of the plant to remain in the sun.
• How do you guide a climbing plant along a fence or wall?
  Climbing plants need something to grow up against: a wire, mesh, trellis or pergola. Gently guide the young shoots in the desired direction during the first season. After a few years, most varieties will cling firmly on their own and require little further assistance.
• Are climbing plants bee-friendly?
  Most of the climbing plants in our range are bee-friendly. Honeysuckle and Lathyrus sylvestris are particularly popular with bees and butterflies, and clematis also attracts plenty of pollinators with its open, accessible flowers.
