Euphorbia Polychroma - Compact - ORG

Euphorbia polychroma, also known as spurge, brings a strikingly fresh splash of color to the garden in the spring. Bright yellow-green flower clusters appear above the green foliage, making the plant stand out for weeks. What you perceive as flowers are primarily the colorful bracts surrounding the small flowers. It is precisely this feature that keeps the spring display beautiful for so long and gives Euphorbia its characteristic appearance.

Compact, rounded, and easy to combine

This spurge grows into a compact, rounded clump about 30 to 45 centimeters tall. This makes it a great choice for the front of a sunny border, along a path, or among other perennials. Pair it, for example, with blue and purple spring-flowering plants, ornamental grasses, or later-blooming perennials. Its fresh yellow-green color contrasts beautifully with virtually any flower color. After flowering, the foliage remains decorative for a long time, and the plant retains its neat, compact form.

A hardy plant for full sun and dry soil

Euphorbia polychroma thrives in a sunny spot and well-drained soil. Once established, the plant can tolerate drier conditions. Especially in winter, it’s important that excess water can drain easily from the soil. The plant is hardy and sprouts anew every spring. It is also suitable for a large pot, as long as excess water can drain away properly. The plant is supplied as a young, well-rooted plant in a compact P9 pot.

Note: Euphorbia contains white milky sap that can irritate the skin and eyes. Therefore, wear gloves when pruning or dividing it, and avoid contact with the sap.
