Detail
Some colours need no explanation. Tulipa Tineke vd Meer is exactly candy-cane pink. Not a soft pastel, not a bright fuchsia, but that fresh pink that immediately brings to mind those red-and-white sweets from your childhood. It’s a colour that immediately catches the eye without being garish. This organic tulip blooms in mid-spring, just when the first spring flowers make way for a fresh burst of colour in the garden.
Sturdy stems, they’ll make you happy
We’ve all seen those tulips that droop after a heavy downpour. Tineke vd Meer isn’t one of those. Thanks to her sturdy, medium-length stems, she stands up beautifully in the border and also makes an excellent cut flower. Put a few stems in a vase and you’ll instantly have a fresh bouquet in your home that stays looking lovely for a surprisingly long time. No fiddly fuss, just a strong tulip that does exactly what you’d expect.
Easy to combine, hard to miss
Candy-pink might sound rather bold, but this tulip is surprisingly easy to combine. Place it alongside white tulips for a fresh look, or with dark purple varieties for greater contrast. It’s also part of our ‘Tall Tulips’ pack, which features a mix of different colours and flower shapes. Handy if you want a colourful border but can’t be bothered to spend hours figuring out which tulips go well together.
A tulip you’ll be looking forward to again next spring
Plant the organic tulip bulbs in the autumn in a sunny to lightly shaded spot in well-drained soil. In the middle of spring, Tineke vd Meer shows why she’s so popular: strong stems, a striking colour and flowers that catch the eye both in the garden and in a vase. These 100% organically grown tulip bulbs have been carefully cultivated so that you can enjoy a healthy, colourful spring garden. Sometimes a beautiful tulip is simply that. And that’s more than enough.
