Tulipa Gudoshnik Double - BIO

Most tulips are chosen for their colour, and that’s as far as it goes. The Tulipa Gudoshnik Double adds something special to that. It opens in a warm, sunny blend of yellow and orange, then gradually changes shade: from softer peach, coral and butter tones, right through to deep red. No two flowers look exactly the same, and the same flower looks different at the start of the week than it does at the end. It’s a tulip you never really tire of looking at, and one that gives you a reason to take a closer look every day. It is precisely this unpredictable play of colours that makes it a favourite among those who plant tulips to be surprised and to continue enjoying them.

Large, full and surprisingly fragrant

The double, peony-shaped flowers of the Gudoshnik Double are among the larger tulip blooms and also have a light, pleasant fragrance – a lovely bonus that you don’t often find in tulips. As the flower heads are large and heavy, it thrives best in a slightly sheltered spot, out of the full wind, so that the full blooms do not suffer too much from heavy spring showers and retain their shape well.

Late in the season, long-lasting enjoyment

Whilst many tulips have already finished flowering, the Gudoshnik Double is just coming into bloom. It is a late-flowering tulip, thereby extending the tulip season in your garden. Plant the organic tulip bulbs in the autumn at a depth of around 15 cm, in a sunny, sheltered spot with rich, well-drained soil. It also makes a beautiful cut flower: a few stems in a vase really bring out the play of colours indoors, and the subtle fragrance completes the bouquet perfectly.
