    Detail
Spring flowering, Daffodils, Naturalising, Gardeners

Some flowers don't need an introduction. The Tête-à-Tête daffodil is one of them. Not large, not fussy – just an organic mini daffodil that does exactly what it does best every spring: flowering early, flowering profusely and returning every year without any hassle. With two or three sunny yellow flowers per stem, it soon looks as though you've planted far more than you actually have. No wonder this is one of the most popular daffodils in Europe.

Small and versatile

Standing around 15 to 20 centimetres tall, Tête-à-Tête fits almost anywhere. In a border, beneath deciduous shrubs, along a garden path or simply in a pot by the front door. Precisely because it remains compact, it combines easily with other spring-flowering plants such as crocuses, grape hyacinths or Scilla siberica. Whilst many plants are still getting into their stride, this organic daffodil is often already blooming cheerfully. And wild bees, bumblebees and other pollinators benefit from this straight away, as food is still scarce in early spring.

Plant once, enjoy for years to come

Plant the organic daffodil bulbs in the autumn in a sunny to lightly shaded spot in well-drained soil. After that, you hardly need to give them a second thought. Let the foliage die back naturally after flowering, and the bulbs will store energy for the following spring all by themselves. Tête-à-Tête naturalises beautifully and, after a few years, forms increasingly dense clumps. This makes it not only lovely now, but also for years to come.

A classic that has earned its place

Some plants are popular simply because they’re in fashion. Tête-à-Tête is popular because it simply performs well. For decades, this mini daffodil has been a firm favourite in gardens, on balconies and in flowerpots. Reliable, profusely flowering and hardy. Sometimes you don’t need to revamp a classic at all. You just need to give it a good spot.
