Dahlia Dark Fubuki - BIO

Dahlia “Dark Fubuki” is a flower best admired up close. The large, densely filled flowers have a deep red colour that sometimes appears almost wine-red or velvety dark. The tips of the petals are finely fringed, giving the flower its characteristic, slightly dishevelled Fubuki shape.

At home in any garden

Thanks to this combination of a dark colour and a unique flower shape, ‘Dark Fubuki’ brings great depth and atmosphere to the garden. She combines beautifully with soft pink, white, lilac and warm orange colours. The dark flowers stand out particularly well against fresh green leaves, so feel free to plant her near plants with plenty of foliage.

Strong character

The plant reaches a height of around one metre and therefore looks best in the centre or at the back of a sunny border. The flowers can grow to around 12 to 18 centimetres in size – you certainly won’t miss them! Give the plant plenty of space and, if necessary, put up a plant stake before the stems have fully grown out. This will ensure she stays upright even in wind and rain, and allows you to enjoy this beautiful deep-red appearance in your garden from July right through to late October.

Fresh flowers in your home

‘Dark Fubuki’ also makes a striking impression in a bouquet. Usually, just one or two flowers are enough to add colour and character to a simple vase of summer flowers. Display them in your home, or surprise a neighbour or friend with organic flowers from your own garden. Don’t forget to regularly pick and remove the spent flowers; this will encourage the plant to keep forming new buds well into autumn, ensuring you can enjoy them for months on end.
