Detail
Tamara is a daffodil that stands out in just the right way. Whilst many yellow daffodils are rather plain, Tamara has subtle crinkles in her soft yellow petals and a wavy edge to the trumpet. No major striking differences, but just enough to make you look twice. And because Tamara often starts flowering as early as February, she’s also one of the first organic daffodils to herald the arrival of spring. Good news for you, and for wild bees and bumblebees that are already carefully making their way out on mild days.
A great companion
Tamara doesn’t wait for the rest to wake up. As soon as winter eases off a little, this daffodil makes an appearance. As a result, she brings colour to the garden at a time when there’s still very little in bloom. Pair her with Scilla siberica for a fresh colour contrast, or plant her amongst perennials such as Brunnera or Vinca. The yellow shade actually goes with just about everything. Not a flashy daffodil, but one that effortlessly ties everything together.
Planting and growing
Plant the organic daffodil bulbs in the autumn in a sunny to lightly shaded spot in well-drained soil. After a few years, ‘Tamara’ will naturally form beautiful, full clumps that flower more profusely every spring. It thrives just as well in a border as in a pot and is also suitable as a cut flower. Thanks to 100% organic cultivation, the bulbs grow naturally, with care taken to nurture the soil and biodiversity. You might not notice this immediately from the flower itself, but you will from everything living around it.
A daffodil that doesn’t have to try too hard
Some flowers rely on unique colours or enormous blooms. Not this organic daffodil. Its strength lies precisely in the details. Its summery colour, early flowering and graceful shape make it the sort of daffodil that brings you joy every spring. No fuss. Just a strong, reliable spring bloomer that does exactly what you’d expect.
