Botanical tulips are different from the large hybrid varieties you find in any garden centre. They are smaller, more fragrant, hardier — and they naturalise. It is precisely this last point that makes this mix so special. Twenty bulbs, comprising varieties that naturalise easily, returning year after year, slowly spreading and naturally enhancing the beauty of your garden.
What makes a tulip a naturaliser?
Botanical tulips grow naturally in mountainous regions with dry summers and cold winters. They are accustomed to poor soil, harsh conditions and a short flowering period. These adaptations make them true survivors in the garden: they don’t simply shoot up from the ground and then disappear, but keep coming back. They multiply via side bulbs, slowly forming dense clumps and improving with age.
For the bees, for the garden
All varieties in this mix are bee-friendly. In sunny weather, the flowers open wide — exactly as bees need them to in order to reach the nectar. Early in spring, when few other plants are in bloom, this pack is therefore a valuable gift to the natural world around you. Plant in autumn in a dry, sunny spot, and then leave them to their own devices. Organically grown, certified NL-BIO-01.
