Planting Dahlia

Dahlias flower prolifically late summer and autumn when many other annuals and perennials have finished blooming. 
Pre-starting indoors 
To pre-start dahlia tubers yourself, put them into pots with a growing mix indoors six weeks before planting in the garden, and you will get a jump on the season and earlier flowering. Plant them into the garden only after you’re sure that frosty nights are over for the season.

Planting and cultivating garlic

When to plant

Garlic can be planted in spring and autumn. For autumn planting, the best method is to plant the cloves in ridges to prevent them from getting too wet in winter. In spring, February / March are the ideal planting months, as the bulbs like to develop at temperatures between 5 and 10 degrees.

If you sow the plants timeously (early March) in the greenhouse, you will have plant material in May of the same year that can be planted in a temporary waiting bed. After the winter, these plants can immediately be replanted in their final spot, where they will remain for about 15 years.

The right conditions

Bulbs can grow in any type of soil, though it should always be well draining soil. It´s also essential to place some compost on the soil every year where the bulbs are planted to stimulate the life of the soil.
